The Cottage Castle pattern is made of square and strip pieces of Mountain Fieldstone Rubble with a natural cleft face finish.
*Natural stone varies in color veining from piece to piece
**Real Rock® patterns require tooling by the mason to achieve the results shown on the samples.
The Cottage Castle pattern features Mountain Fieldstone Rubble – a type of naturally occurring Southern Appalachian Stone™ – arranged in a style reminiscent of old-world castle design. The stones in this pattern feature a natural cleft finish, meaning each stone is split according to the naturally occurring layers. This type of finish showcases the unique texture of the stone face.
While the Cottage Castle pattern is inspired by castle design, it has many modern applications. The rich color allows Cottage Castle to be used to highlight existing architectural features, such as a fireplace or accent wall, or to create a breathtaking feature.
This pattern consists of square and strip pieces of authentic stone between 5 and 7 inches in face height. It is available in two depths – Thin Stone Veneer and Thick Wall Stone. Real Rock® Thin Stone Veneer is a thinner, lighter-weight option, typically about 1 ½ inches deep. It can be applied to virtually any surface without additional support. Thick Wall Stone is a full bed depth stone that can only be used on weight-bearing structures.
The stones in the Cottage Castle pattern can be applied with visible mortar or as dry stack – without visible mortar. The Cottage Castle pattern is a popular choice for both residential and commercial projects. These authentic stones are naturally weather resistant and can be used for indoor or outdoor applications.
