The Desert Stack pattern consists of rectangular pieces of Brown Rubble Quartzite Sandstone – a type of authentic Southern Appalachian Stone™ that is both beautiful and durable. The rich color allows Desert Stack to be used to highlight existing architectural features, such as a fireplace or accent wall, or to create a breathtaking feature.
The stones in the Desert Stack pattern are various sizes between 3 and 5 inches in height arranged in an artful stack. They also feature a natural cleft face. This type of fabrication showcases the authentic texture of the stone face by cutting at the naturally occurring layers. This stone pattern can be installed with or without visible mortar to achieve your desired look.
The Desert Stack pattern is available in two depths – Thin Stone Veneer and Thick Wall Stone. Real Rock® Thin Stone Veneer is a lighter option, about 1 ½ inches deep. It can be applied to virtually any light-weight-bearing surface without additional framing or support. Thick Wall Stone is a full-bed depth stone that must be applied to weight-bearing surfaces.
This pattern is a popular choice for both residential and commercial projects. Since it is made of authentic Southern Appalachian Stone™, it is naturally weather and UV resistant making it an excellent option for both indoor and outdoor projects. Whether you want to upgrade the face of a commercial building or create a one-of-a-kind outdoor living space, you can’t go wrong with the Desert Stack pattern.
